I need a recipe for a side dish for a BBQ that is very easy and cheap to make for about 20 people?

Just make a simple pasta salad. Vinagrette, not with mayo.

For 5 people I use 3/4 bag of Rotini - Coloured, or elbow macaroni..

Rinse and drain in Cold water, set aside..

Chop up all kinds of coloured tasty veggies:

For 5 I use:

Cherry tomatoes - half a pint

2 large Carrots, shredded

One large onion, minced - Red is even better

2 stalks celery,

and One diced-up Green Bell Pepper, with 1/2 Red or Yellow for flavour and colour..

Add a half a sliced Zucchini,

And sliced up green olives if you have some.

Then add your favourite herbs and spices. I mostly use Italian - thyme, Oregano, basil (pinch) Onion and garlic powder.. salt and pepper - To taste.

- Toss all veggies and noodles together, with herbs, and spices - Add 1/2 brick of grated cheddar cheese, and One Can of 'Flakes of Ham' - your choice, again.

Add some Red Wine Vinegar, and Olive Oil..

Toss, serve, and let the compliments fly at you! :)

Also, I use to just chop up a lot of veggies and put them in a tray..

carrots, broccoli, slices of green and red pepper, cauliflowerets, cucumbers..

And add 1 pack of Lipton's Onion soup mix (or less to taste), to a container of Sour Cream. (Dip). If you're not on a budget, you can always just buy a tray.. and add cheese.

Keep in mind that you'll just have to use my recipe(s) and ideas, and x them by 4 - especially the Ingredients for the Cool Summer Pasta Salad.I need a recipe for a side dish for a BBQ that is very easy and cheap to make for about 20 people?
If you want to make it on the grill, consider grilled hash browns (recipe linked below).

You can buy the big bags of hash browns, and that's not expensive. I'd say you'd need 3 bags (around 2 lbs each). Might get by with two bags.

This is also really easy to make. You just need room on the grill.

Clean up is super simple if you use the large throwaway tin foil like pans.

Grilled hash browns are my boys favorite BBQ side dish. I made it at a party this month, and it was a hit with everyone too.I need a recipe for a side dish for a BBQ that is very easy and cheap to make for about 20 people?
Barbecued beans are great.

- Get some big cans of beans and a couple of bottles of barbecued sauce. Mix and heat.

Three bean salad is great.

- One third kidney beans. One third wax beans. One third green beans. For each three cans of beans, use one small sliced onion. (If you use big onions, use half an onion per three cans.) Make a sweet and sour dressing (vinegar, oil, sugar, water, salt) and pour over.

Greek salad is great.

- Tomatoes, cucumbers, red onions, feta cut into big chunks. Oregano vinaigrette. Kalamata olives. Put it in with some lettuce if you want, or leave it as is.

Marinated vegetables are great and easy.

- Onions, carrots, broccoli, cauliflower (you might want to blanch these), anything that suits your fancy. Cherry tomatoes, peppers... you name it. If you want to grill some, use portabello mushrooms and/or thick eggplant slices. Put this all into either a big bowl or a big pan. Prepare a few packets of Good Seasons Italian dressing according to directions on the packet and pour it over the veggies. Stir once in awhile.

Other than that, you can grab some cole slaw mix and dressing from the store.

NEW ENGLAND BAKED BEANS MADE IN A

CROCK POT

1 lb. dry navy beans

Wash and pick over beans, removing any stones, broken beans, etc.

In a saucepan, cover beans with water (about 1 inch above top of beans). Simmer beans for 10 minutes. Let cool 5 minutes.

Transfer to CrockPot, along with water they were cooked in. Cover and leave to soak overnight.

The next day add:

1 cup brown sugar, packed

1 additional cup water (if beans are dry)

4 tsp. dry mustard

4 tbsp. molasses

2 tablespoons ketchup (optional)

1 tsp. salt (or to taste)

1 large onion, sliced

onion powder, to taste (optional)

1/4-1/2 lb. salt pork

Mix ingredients (except for salt pork) and stir into beans. Slash salt pork in 1/2 inch slices nearly up to the rind, but not all the way through. Cut across the previous slices until the salt pork is deeply scored. Submerge salt pork in beans. A slice of hickory smoked bacon can be placed over the top of the beans.

Turn CrockPot on low setting. Cover and cook for 6 hours, or until beans are tender. If beans start to become dry during cooking, add a small amount of hot water.

When beans are tender, taste and adjust seasonings before serving. Slice up bits of the pork to add to each serving.

Traditionally, the cooking is begun on a Saturday night. Baked beans make for a leisurely Sunday lunch and can be served with good quality natural casing frankfurts or kielbasa.

hope these help. good luck and enjoy.
