i would just leave the green beans and replace it with a salad and some garlic bread . With pasta meals you usually don't cook a veggie unless you are adding it in the pasta itself .QUICK!!! i need a EASY side dish recipe for Green beans...with basic ingredients. (I am making Beef stroganoff
1 - 2 lbs fresh green beans, picked over and trimmed
1 cup chicken broth
1 lb mushrooms
1/2 tsp garlic
1/2 cube butter
1/2 cup white wine
1/4 tsp dijon mustard
Fresh ground pepper
kosher salt
Cook green beans in chicken broth until crisp tender. Drain off liquid and save broth. Saute mushrooms in butter. Add garlic, salt and pepper. When they are browned, set aside and add wine and mustard to liquid. If necessary, add some of the chicken broth to the liquid to make enough to coat your beans. Simmer until liquid has reduced slightly and thickened. Season to taste. Return mushrooms and green beans to skillet or saucepan and heat thru.
